Paulie’s Pizza | Dublin Food

Ever since moving to Dublin I have been longing to find the perfect slice of pizza. I mean, I’m a bit of a pizza snob. I’ve tried a few slices (that I have really likes and you’ll spot them on my Insta here) but I recently spotted Paulie’s on Instagram and thought I had to give it a try. You see, my favourite kind of pizza is that thin base, stone baked pizza. Since moving from Galway I have craved nothing more than a pizza and cold one from Dough Bro’s but it’s hard to find a place to rival them up here in the big smhoke.

I have had a few recommendations and tried a few that are definitely also worth writing about (I’ll get around to it..) but Paulie’s deserved my first honourable mention. You’ll find this gem located by the Grand Canal in Dublin, surrounded by tons of street parking and right by the Dart station making it easily accessible for all. The restaurant is small so I definitely suggest booking in advance. The inside is overlooking the kitchen area but the spot you really wanna sit in is the outdoor glasshouse at the front of the restaurant, this would be so nice on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

So, let’s get down to the good stuff. The food! I went in with high expectations,  and thankfully,  Paulie’s did not disappoint.  The menu has such an amazing collection of italian dishes including not only their infamous pizzas but pasta, antipasti and more. Vegetarian options included and in abundance.

We ordered, you guessed it, pizza! The crust was soft and base was thin and delicious. The toppings were fresh and tasty. It was a perfect pizza! If you like freshly made, thin based and tasty pizza, youre going to love this. I honestly can’t wait to return and try one of their oh-so attractive pasta dishes.

I also have to mention my dessert. I am not always someone that orders a dessert (i’m more of an espresso martini for dessert kinda gal) but on this day I felt compelled and I am so glad I was. This chocolate brownie was possibly one of the best brownies I have ever had. This is a big statement for me because I am so particular about my sweet treats. I wouldn’t go as far as saying picky, but I know what I like in my desserts and a slice of victoria sponge from a package or ied buns are my worst nightmare (soz). The best kind of brownies, in my opinion, are moist (I said it & I’m not apologising but if I could think of a better word I would use it), dense and super chocolatey. Let me tell you, this brownies is all of this plus chocolate chips throughout, a scoop a creamy vanilla ice cream melting on top and drizzles of caramel sauce. WOW. This was DELISH. Clearly, I am quite passionate about chocolate brownies and let me tell you, this is one that you have got to try!
